If you have been to my home, or to my Meditation Reiki room you will know, I love salt lamps! They have so many benefits. You can even visit salt rooms now.

Salt lamps not only look beautiful and create a lovely atmosphere, they are also known as "the vitamins of the air" They are natures ioniser. They are said to emit negative ions into their surroundings, these negative ions improve your indoor air quality. Negative ions kill bacteria, purify the air, reduce radiation, increase well being and soothe the mind, body and spirit.

It does this by drawing water moleculess from the air to the surface of the salt lamp, and as the salt lamp warms by the globe, a gentle chemical reaction takes place. The healthy negative ions are then released into your environment, counteracting the positive ions produced from electrical devices in your home. The air is then purified, which means any bacteria, mould, viruses and allergens in the air as well as respiratory irritants and asthma triggers cannot survive in the negatively charged environment!

They are pretty amazing, all this and they look great too.
